Responsibilities

Reviewing law enforcement reports
Determining charges
Managing and prioritizing a high-volume felony caseload
Developing prosecution strategies
Negotiating plea agreements
Preparing witnesses
Representing the County at all stages of criminal proceedings
Advising law enforcement during investigations
Assisting with warrants
Managing appeals
Preparing legal documents
Collaborating with other prosecutors on complex cases

Required

Juris Doctor (ABA-accredited)
Washington State Bar Association membership in good standing
At least 3 years' legal practice (criminal trial experience preferred)
In-depth knowledge of criminal law, procedure, legal research, and trial/appellate processes
Strong trial, negotiation, and case management skills
Ability to handle high-pressure, high-impact cases
U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency
Valid driver's license
Ability to pass background check
