Communications Specialist III
NEOGOV is seeking a Communications Specialist III to join their dynamic team focused on watershed planning and restoration efforts. This role involves developing and implementing communication and engagement plans to build community understanding and support for capital projects aimed at improving water quality and restoring habitats.

Responsibilities
Support the Capital Delivery Section by developing strategies, standards, templates and best practices for Outreach and Communications
Support the development and management of project-specific consultant work orders, review consultant deliverables and assist PMs in assuring compliance with County and WLRD policies
Work with project managers and project sponsors to assess outreach and communications needs and develop communications plans for capital projects at all stages in the project life cycle
The position will develop news releases, flyers, postcards, social media ads, and websites for capital project communications strategy appropriate to the project audiences, with support and subject matter oversight provided by project management staff and consultants
Participate in public meetings, engaging with community members to share information and solicit input on WLRD projects and priorities
Qualification
Required
Skilled in developing and implementing strategic communications plans with clear direction, concise messaging, and measurable outcomes
Skills in synthesizing and communicating technical information in ways that everyone can understand to include the development of outreach materials, news releases, web content etc
Skills in identifying and assessing the communication needs of key audiences, including multi-lingual and disability audiences
Proficiency with digital and social media platforms and curating web content using tools such as Sitecore, GovDelivery, PublicInput, and other social media platforms, MS Teams Platform and related applications
Education in marketing, journalism, science/technical communications or related field or experience leading communications work, to include developing communications strategies, identifying tactics, developing materials, implementing and evaluating events or projects

Preferred
Direct experience with communication in natural resources management field
Background in environmental education, social marketing, or multicultural projects
