Journey Lineworker
NEOGOV is a company working in partnership with the City of Richland, seeking a Journey Lineworker to perform skilled installation, construction, maintenance, and repair of the City’s electrical utility distribution and transmission systems. The role requires responding to emergency situations and involves working on both energized and de-energized lines, as well as operating various types of equipment.

Responsibilities
Performs skilled journey-level duties including construction, maintenance, and repair of the City’s overhead and underground electrical distribution and transmission systems to include primary and secondary voltages and lighting systems
Performs work on energized and de-energized lines
Performs switching operations
Sets, frames, and constructs overhead lines to include, but not limited to, setting poles, installing conductors, transformers, and all associated equipment
Installs vaults, conduit, transformers, conductors, and all associated underground equipment
Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and repairs overhead and underground electrical distribution and transmission systems to include secondary and lighting systems
Operates a variety of equipment used to perform assigned tasks, including boom trucks, pulling machines, bucket trucks, backhoes, forklift, voltmeters, phase tools, and hot sticks
Reads and interprets work orders, maps, construction standards, switching orders, and other documentation to complete assigned tasks
Requisitions supplies, materials, and equipment for assigned projects
Participates in department meetings including safety meetings and tailboard meetings
Prepares records required in the daily performance of duties
Works in accordance with and assists in enforcing safety rules and City policies
Assists in the training of employees in the installation and maintenance of the City’s electrical system
Performs standby duties as assigned
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that will provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the essential functions of the job
Valid Journey Lineworker Certification upon hire date
Valid driver's license with a Class 'A' CDL upon hire date
First Aid, CPR, and Flagger Certifications within three (3) months of hire date
Preferred
Three (3) or more years of experience working with underground cable and terminations
Three (3) or more years of experience using hot sticks
Ability to operate assigned equipment such as bucket truck, boom truck, backhoe, and overhead and underground wire pulling equipment
Knowledge of OSHA and WISHA regulations and policies applicable to assigned tasks
Knowledge of project management cost and schedule controls
Ability to operate a computer system in a windows based environment with knowledge of Microsoft Office software
