Responsibilities
Promote Mission Statement and C.A.R.E principles of organization
Assures availability of instrumentation and supplies required for the endoscopy procedure prior to the case
Participates in room set up, turnover, cleaning, and restocking
Performs duties relating to processing, decontaminates and maintenance of the surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies in accordance to manufactures specifications and the facilities policies and procedures
Will notify Supervisor of any potential defects to equipment and will work to facilitate maintenance/repair with manufacture
Understands and practices principles of universal precautions, and hazardous materials management to process instruments, equipment, and supplies through the stages of decontamination
Performs weekly scope surveillance sampling and culturing
Document actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records
Assists in lab specimen collection and documentation under direction of RN and physician
Process physician orders and records information with accuracy, speed, and proficiency
Maintain work operations by following policies and procedures, Standards of Care, and Standards of Practice
Complete Workday requirements as assigned
Maintain annual competencies and certification
Qualification
Required
Successful completion of ROSE and Reid Health orientation and competency based skills appropriate for the area assigned
High School diploma
Experience in an extended care or other healthcare facility
Basic Life Support certification
Preferred
CNA certification
Evidence of successful completion of Reid Health recognized Nursing Assistant program
Fundamentals course of nursing school
