NDT Sr Technician

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (OTS) is a global leader in the design, engineering and production of munitions and related systems. The NDT Sr Technician role involves designing and implementing nondestructive testing to evaluate materials and components, while also documenting and analyzing test results according to regulatory requirements.

Manufacturing

Responsibilities

Designs, develops and implements nondestructive testing (NDT) to evaluate the properties and conformance of a material, component or system without causing damage
Records, analyzes and reports test results
Writes testing plans and maintains test documentation in accordance with applicable regulations and requirements
Set up and standardize equipment, process parts, interpret and evaluate for acceptance or rejection, and document results
Develop specific calibrations and tests
Document results in accordance with the specification
Identifies errors and defects in equipment
Use of ultrasound, radiography, or other techniques during the testing process
Conduct system performance checks in accordance with the applicable process standard
Maintain or develop procedures, policies, and techniques as necessary
Train subordinate personnel in the various NDT disciplines and techniques
Maintain documentation for training and experience hours

Required

Must be certified LEVEL II in at least TWO of the following methods: Magnetic Particle, Ultra Sonic, Dye Penetrant, Radiography
Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 2-5 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
NAS 410 Certification Level 2: State issued industrial radiographer certificate - Ability to achieve Level I or Level 2 certification in alignment with NAS 410 standards, through education, training, and testing, and perform the required Level 2 requirements

Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities
Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds
May need to stand for long periods of time
Must be willing to work outside normal business hours as required

Preferred

Associate's Degree
Science Degree in NDT or equivalent training and experience
