Quality Control Specialist Technician

Responsibilities
Monitor the production process to ensure compliance with quality standards
Collaborate with production, engineering, and other departments to address quality concerns
Train staff on quality standards, best practices, and inspection techniques
Administer training tests and track team member training status
Perform routine and non-routine inspections of automotive transmission components and final assemblies to ensure compliance with company standards and specifications
Identify and document defects, discrepancies, or non-conformities found, and work closely with production teams to resolve issues
Ensure that all inspection procedures are followed according to established guidelines
Develop and implement quality control processes and standards
Analyze inspection data and prepare detailed reports for management review
Maintain and calibrate inspection tools and equipment
Participate in root cause analysis for quality issues and support corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs)
Lead Kaizen bursts to implement process improvements
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Computer skills, including using spreadsheets
Can demonstrate identifying defects and deviations from specifications in mechanical parts
Can demonstrate reading technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications
Can demonstrate use of quality control tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
Knowledge of lean manufacturing and/or quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) is a strong plus
Lift and carry up to 35 lbs
Stand, walk, and talk with people for extended periods
Comfortable working in a factory floor environment with a moderate to high noise level
Preferred
Associate's degree or higher in a related field (e.g., Automotive Technology, Engineering Technology)
