Responsibilities

Assist in planning and implementing suitable learning experiences for children

Assist with supervision of children in the classroom and playground

Assist in the management and shaping of student behavior through the use of positive reinforcement strategies

Assist in the development of a variety of instructional materials for use with individual and small groups of students

Perform a variety of regular clerical duties, such as filing, data entry, and maintaining student records

Assist to maintain a neat, orderly, and attractive learning environment by performing such tasks as cleaning, arranging displays, or preparing bulletin boards

Assist children to develop positive relationships with peers and adults

Assist to observe and record children's development and progress

Introduce new foods to children and reinforce proper eating habits

Maintain an awareness of and care for daily health needs; respond as needed performing such duties as changing diapers and assisting with self-help skills and health checks

Serve as an appropriate positive role model

Attend staff meetings and in-service training, as required

Perform related duties and responsibilities as required
