Strategic Sourcing Specialist - Special Projects, Global Corporate Procurement (GCP)
Amazon Global Corporate Procurement (GCP) is seeking high-performing individuals for the role of Special Projects Strategic Sourcing Specialist. This role will drive cost efficiencies and support internal teams in scaling projects while managing strategic data analysis and vendor management across various business units.

Responsibilities
Identify new internal customers and sourcing opportunities utilizing analysis from multiple sources
Review spend data, contract pipelines, and market trends for key spend categories
Contribute to cross-functional team meetings to align on Source-to-Pay priorities and requirements
Contribute to ongoing customer and vendor management, including development of category and vendor management plans
Partner with business, finance, and legal leaders to identify and implement Procure-to-Pay best practices including savings and controllership
Work closely with engineers, scientists, technical stakeholders, and leadership to ensure products and services meet the needs of the business
Conduct market research and prepare RFP documents for upcoming sourcing projects
Manage the RFP process, evaluate proposals, negotiate commercial deal terms and contracts, and create award recommendations
Provide procurement analytics and insights to support data-driven decision making
Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in strategic sourcing
Track spend and consumption across key agreements. Identify associated risks
Qualification
Required
BS/BA degree
3+ years of relevant Strategic Sourcing, Vendor Management, Business Development or Data Analysis experience
Preferred
MBA/MS degree
3+ years of in-depth experience in best-in-class procurement practices (category management, benchmarking, should-cost models, RFX, reverse auction, contracting, etc.), including highly technical or highly complex spend categories
Experience working in a startup environment to address immediate tactical purchasing needs while building for future-scale
Extremely customer-focused and takes the time to understand the needs of the business
Passionate self-starter with the highest integrity and ethics
Strong negotiator with proven experience in setting negotiation strategies and conducting negotiations
Working knowledge of the basic types of commercial agreement structures and the function and purpose of key legal terms
Ability to assess risk and concisely explain complex issues to principal business owners
Strong analytical skills including the ability to quickly synthesize, distill and draw conclusions on large amounts of disparate data
Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills
