Utah Tech University is inviting applications for a tenure-track position in Computer Science. The successful candidate will teach and develop courses in Data Science and Computer Science, integrating computational methods with statistical reasoning.

Responsibilities

Teach a standard load of undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Data Science and Computer Science

Engage and mentor students in active and experiential learning, with a focus on progressive developmental experiences

Mentor undergraduate researchers both formally and informally, guiding them in their academic and professional paths

Contribute to the ongoing development of programs and projects within the department

Conduct public and private outreach activities for the Data Science program

Attend department, college, and university faculty meetings; program management and adhere to university policies

Perform other duties as assigned

Required

A PhD in Computer Science or a related discipline with emphasis in Data Science required for Assistant Professor; a Master's degree with professional expertise is required for Instructor of the Practice

Strong communication and interpersonal skills and commitment to collegiality and teamwork

Commitment to active learning, experiential learning, and student engagement

Preferred

Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience in Data Science but candidates with adequate teaching assistant experience are also encouraged to apply
