Senior Center Coordinator
The City of Spring Hill is seeking a full-time Senior Center Coordinator to oversee the daily operations of the Spring Hill Community Senior Center. The role involves supervising daily operations, fostering a welcoming environment, and managing various programs and activities for senior patrons.

Responsibilities
Operates and maintains an attractive Community Senior Center
Coordinate building and grounds maintenance needs; oversee the Community Senior Center vegetable garden and complete routine maintenance of plants and vegetables
Delivers a safe and excellent customer service experience to members, and patrons
Work with various agencies to create and facilitate recreational programing such as educational guest speakers, fitness classes, arts and crafts and other programming entertainment
Respond to and resolve difficult and sensitive member inquiries and complaints
Identify opportunities for improving service delivery methods and procedures; implement improvements as approved by the Recreation Superintendent
Stay current with trends and innovations in the field of aging and management of the Community Senior Center
Plans, manages and supervises all activities and programs taking place at the Community Senior Center
Follows city procedures as it pertains to policy and emergency situations
Supervises volunteers performing tasks at the Community Senior Center
Oversee and participates in the development and administration of the department's annual Community Senior Center budget
Maintains up-to-date inventory of supplies and equipment; communicates with the Recreation Superintendent on purchasing needs
Monitors membership registrations, programming registration in the RecDesk software; files all paperwork and documents accordingly
Qualification
Required
Knowledge of effective customer service principles
Ability to perform detailed work accurately and independently with minimal direction and supervision
Ability to identify the needs and interests of those over the age of 55
Ability to plan, organize, direct and lead programs
Knowledge of the City's and Department's operating requirements, policies, procedures, and practices; and local, state, and federal regulations related to departmental programs and operations
Ability to effectively utilize the principles of strategic and long and short-range planning
Basic knowledge of principles and practices of budgeting
Knowledge of computer software including Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and able to learn other database applications consistent for this position
Strong technology skills with the ability to quickly learn new systems and provide basic troubleshooting support for computers, tablets, mobile devices, and software applications
Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and effectively in both written and verbal form
Ability to apply sound judgment and discretion in performing duties, resolving problems and interpreting policies and regulations
Ability to handle sensitive interpersonal situations calmly and tactfully
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with individuals within and outside the organization
Ability to work the allocated hours of the position and after hours as needed at Parks and Recreation Special Events
Ability to manage other senior center staff
High school diploma or equivalent required
At least two years' related work experience required
Previous Supervisory experience
This work requires occasional exertion of up to 50 pounds of force; work regularly requires sitting, frequently requires standing, speaking or hearing, using hands, handle or feel and repetitive motions and occasionally requires walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling and reaching with hands and arms
Preferred
Post-secondary education in Recreation, Operations, Health, Social Services, or closely related field is preferred
