Responsibilities
Plans and performs a variety of moderately complex laboratory tests, analyses, and observations, using techniques of cellular immunology including flow and microscope
Applies these techniques to evaluate interdisciplinary clinical studies and trials
Extracts and analyzes experimental data; analyzes flow cytometry data using Flowjo and other proprietary software
Assesses the importance of findings in relation to the general research program
Operates computer and/or peripheral equipment
Maintains quality control tracking of methods and reagent performance performing QC testing and maintenance of computerized inventory and databases
Prepares presentation materials for seminar presentations, publications, and preliminary data for grant submissions
Presents research results at lab meetings and assists in writing papers for publication
Assists in the management of the laboratory's reagent inventory, including reagents necessary for day-to-day laboratory operations; keep research supplies stocked
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED
5 years' experience with performing basic sampling, monitoring or research activities; compiling and collecting data and preparing reports or equivalent combination of education and experience
Basic lab techniques
Preferred
Associate's degree in a biological science or a related field, with major course work in the field of Microbiology & Immunology
Experience with flow cytometry and microscope
