NEOGOV is hiring for the State of Hawaii's Department of Land and Natural Resources, Division of Boating and Ocean Recreation. The Boating and Ocean Recreation Manager I will operationally manage a district-wide boating and ocean recreation program, overseeing facilities and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.

Responsibilities

Operationally manage and maintain a district-wide boating and ocean recreation program through subordinate staff

Plan, organize, supervise, coordinate and/or promote operations and activities of the boating and ocean recreation program

Review overall boating and ocean recreation activities occurring in the district

Develop plans to effectively meet the needs of the boating and general public

Operate and maintain assigned facilities and designated areas

Coordinate and implement boating registration and license/permit systems as well as other district programs

Required

Legal authorization to work in the United States

Graduation from an accredited four (4) year college or university with a bachelor's degree

Two and one-half (2-1/2) years of experience in progressively responsible professional work experience which involved marine or boating related activities

One (1) year of professional experience that provided a thorough knowledge of the applicable laws, rules and regulations pertaining to program activities

Possession of a valid driver's license at the time of appointment
