Responsibilities

Lead the development and execution of a divisional mission and vision aligned with Bellevue College's mission, vision, and strategic plan
Represent HSEWI in college-wide strategic planning, governance, and decision-making
Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and collaborative leadership across health sciences, education, and wellness programs
Build and sustain partnerships with clinical sites, K'12 districts, industry, and community organizations to strengthen programs and expand experiential learning
Participate in college advancement and fundraising efforts that support division initiatives
Engage with accrediting bodies, state agencies, and professional organizations to ensure program relevance and compliance
Oversee curriculum development, program review, and instructional quality to ensure academic and professional excellence
Supervise and support faculty, chairs, directors, and staff, including hiring, onboarding, mentoring, evaluation, tenure, and promotion processes
Lead assessment, accreditation, and compliance processes for programs with external standards
Promote inclusive pedagogy, culturally responsive instruction, and evidence-based teaching practices
Oversee program-level work, including scheduling, lab/clinical operations, and equipment/safety protocols
Provide leadership for bachelor's degree development and oversight within the division
Develop and implement strategies to improve access, retention, progression, and completion for all students
Collaborate with student affairs and campus services (e.g., Disability Resource Center, Multicultural Services, Title IX, CARE Team, TRIO) to provide holistic support for student success
Create inclusive, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive learning environments across clinical, classroom, and field settings
Respond to student concerns and academic grievances in a timely, equitable, and student-centered manner
Lead initiatives to reduce equity gaps in health, education, and wellness programs
Support integration of high-impact practices such as clinical placements, internships, and community-based learning
Manage divisional budgets, instructional resources, scheduling, and staffing in alignment with strategic goals and enrollment targets
Oversee facilities, labs, clinical agreements, and instructional technology to ensure safety, accessibility, and operational efficiency
Ensure compliance with financial policies, collective bargaining agreements, and regulatory standards
Collaborate with other deans and directors on shared resources, strategic enrollment management, and facilities planning
Provide oversight for grants awarded to division faculty and staff, ensuring accountability and alignment with institutional priorities
Serve on college committees, task forces, and governance groups as assigned
Represent the division at internal and external events
Perform other duties as assigned to support institutional priorities and the evolving needs of Academic Affairs

Required

Master's degree from an accredited institution. A combination of relevant education and professional experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis
At least two (2) years of full-time (or equivalent) teaching experience in higher education
At least three (3) years of experience managing complex organizational units with competing needs
Demonstrated ability to supervise, support, and evaluate diverse faculty and staff in a collaborative, inclusive work environment
Proven success in academic leadership, including curriculum oversight, faculty development, and instructional innovation
Experience leading or participating in strategic planning, program development, or organizational transformation
Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to build consensus and lead through influence
Demonstrated commitment to advancing equity, inclusion, and student success in a diverse educational environment
Familiarity with budget management, resource planning, and operational oversight in an academic setting
Understanding of trends in health sciences, education, and wellness professions, including workforce and community needs

Preferred

Graduate degree or equivalent experience in a health sciences, education, wellness, or related discipline
Doctorate in a related field
More than two (2) years of full-time teaching experience in higher education, particularly in a community or open-access college
Experience with program-specific accreditation and compliance in healthcare, education, or wellness fields
Experience overseeing bachelor's degree programs or leading curriculum development for applied or transfer programs in health sciences, education, or wellness
Experience with strategic enrollment planning, grant development, or clinical/community partnerships
Familiarity with ctcLink (PeopleSoft) or similar enterprise systems used in higher education
Experience developing innovative programs in response to evolving community, workforce, or industry needs
