ASSISTANT COACH - WOMEN'S SOFTBALL

Barstow Community College is an open-access, comprehensive two-year institution serving a diverse student population in the Mojave region of San Bernardino County, California. The Assistant Coach for Women's Softball will assist in planning and executing the softball program, recruit players, and direct training and performance of student-athletes.

Responsibilities

Assist in the planning and execution of the Softball program at Barstow College
Recruit competitive players
Plan and direct conditioning, training, practice and athletic performance of student/athlete team members
Maintain team statistics and records
Develop and maintain a close relationship with local high school softball coaches
Provide compliance with college rules and policies, the Commission on Athletics as well as other applicable regulatory agencies
Perform other work related duties as assigned

Required

Must have either an Associate's Degree and six years coaching experience; OR Bachelor's degree and two years experience
Must demonstrate a sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students
All course work and degrees must be from a regionally accredited college or university

Barstow Community College offers health care benefits to benefits-eligible employees.
Part-Time Faculty/Short-Term Temporary workers are not eligible for the District's benefits cap.
However, Part-time faculty who have obtained preferred rehire status and have taught or served an average of at least 40% of a full-time faculty load for the past (2) two academic semesters (Fall and Spring) may apply for and shall be entitled to reimbursement pro-rated based on load or minimum of 50% of the District benefits cap.
