Electrical Technician - Traveling Technician

Consulting

Responsibilities

Assembly of electrical control panels, junction boxes, and some wire harnesses from prints
Physical assembly of wiring and testing of control panels for industrial equipment
Fabricate controls to print, including layout and physical mounting of components to the back panel, wiring of all components, installation of control panel onto equipment, and testing to ensure proper operation. All duties must be performed in accordance with all company policies and procedures
Other duties as assigned
Travel Position - Alabama Based - Reporting into our corporate office, this role functions as a full-time traveling field technician covering the Southeast Coast & Gulf Coast. The position requires heavy travel to service client locations and equipment

Required

MUST have minimum high school diploma/GED
MUST have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Must be able to work full-time hours, with the possibility of unusual scheduled hours as needed, along with overtime hours as needed, sometimes on short notice
2+ years' experience in a fire protection technician role; fire alarm, fire suppression or relatable role
Travel may be needed, including international travel
Must be able to gain clearance to enter government work sites
Good mechanical and electrical skills, along with experience in troubleshooting and repairing electrical equipment
Knowledge of electrical wiring practices, and the ability to read cable and wire color codes to place wires with precision and hook-up required
Must be able to read blueprints, schematic diagrams, and use electrical test equipment
Working knowledge of test equipment
Must have the ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
Must comprehend written and verbal instructions and hear warning signals, read, and comprehend safety instructions, regulations, and warnings
Knowledge of basic safety standards with the ability to learn codes and regulations associated with fire protection
Effective customer service and communication skills
Detail oriented and strong problem-solving skills
Proficient in the use of computer programs such as Word, Excel, & Outlook, and the ability to work on tablet/phone-based applications
Good time-management skills
The ability to meet deadlines under pressure
A high standard of quality and attention to detail
