Responsibilities

Performs repair work; replaces tile; repairs doors and window; unstops sinks and other plumbing fixtures; repairs steam valves; replaces motors and pumps on heating/air conditioning equipment; repairs electric switches and receptacles

Reviews work orders and investigates site; determines proper repair procedures; estimates time and materials needed

Serves as informational resource to staff

Plans and conducts a comprehensive preventive maintenance program

Cleans and maintains tools and equipment

May assist in setting up of stages, rigging, curtains, and lighting system for special events

Required

Requires six months of mechanical/trade training beyond high school and two years of repair/maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Knowledge of mechanical repair

Ability to read schematics

Preferred

Demonstrated two or more years of experience in troubleshooting, diagnostics and repairs in multiple maintenance trade areas
