Responsibilities

All skills, knowledge and job duties of Electrical Technician B

Troubleshoot and repair A/C, D/C motors, drives and inverters

Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems

Troubleshoot and repair fire panels and alarm systems

Correctly identify and work on any electrical cabinet in the plant

Identify and safely work on any switchgear in the plant

Replace non-programmable devices such as relays, contactors, timers, PLC i/o cards

Use soldering for repairs as needed

Check and change motor rotation if needed

Replace plant lighting and ballasts

Check and replace fuses

Troubleshoot electrical circuits

Assists Maintenance technician in the lubrication and repair of mechanical equipment

Maintain all equipment in good running order

Ensure that job site is clean and free of hazards

Maintains good housekeeping and safety practices when running equipment

Interacts and communicates with Production supervisor during shift and assist on production line when needed

Maintains professional certifications and keeps updated on all procedures and policy changes; keeps training up to date

Operates all maintenance equipment safely, follows LOTO procedures at all times

Required

Industrial maintenance degree or similar from a state certified technical school or community college is required. Completion of a 4-year electrical apprenticeship can be substituted

Must have knowledge of basic industrial electrical components – relays, timers, contactors, proximity switches, etc

Must be able to read multimeters and amp meters

A background in industrial electronics and troubleshooting is required

Basic computer knowledge

Must have good communication skills

Must be able and willing to work overtime, weekends and evenings as needed. Also must be able to work on-call as needed

Must be able to read electrical schematics

Can work with limited supervision (ie. night shift)

Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary

Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions
