Responsibilities

Enforces the Illinois Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act (815 ILCS 505/1et. seq)
Conducts investigations and, when appropriate, files enforcement actions in state or federal court to stop fraudulent, unfair or deceptive practices
Collaborates with other government and law enforcement agencies, attorneys and advocacy groups on public policy and other matters of law as it pertains to consumer protection
Drafts legislation and rules, and participates in events to educate the community on emerging consumer problems and issues

Required

Candidates must be licensed to practice law in Illinois at the time of application

Preferred

Strong interest and experience in investigation, litigation and public policy is preferred, particularly with regards to consumer protection issues
