Responsibilities
Install, replace, repair, and modify mechanical and electrical equipment located on and within Public Utilities facilities, including, but not limited to, pumps, pump valves, regulators, actuators, control panels, communication systems, motor controls, electronic filtering, and switching systems
Document and maintain work orders, parts inventory, and safety records
Proficient in the operation of an electric multimeter, voltmeter, and megohmmeter, battery operator tools, hand tools, chainsaws, and other gas-powered equipment
Operate crane trucks to remove and install pumps from wet wells and other lift station maintenance activities
Read and follow color codes, wiring diagrams and schematics, blueprints, plans, and written instructions
Work performed as a Skilled Trades Worker II
Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to Skilled Trades Workers II
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or its equivalent
Three (3) years of experience in applicable trades which include work in the water/wastewater collection field and or experience performing pump, valve, or hydraulic system repair and maintenance including electrical troubleshooting and repairs
The ability to acquire a Class 'A' CDL with air brake endorsement within six (6) months at the time of hire. Paid for by Sarasota County!
Valid Florida Driver's License at the time of hire
High School Diploma or its equivalent
Six (6) years of experience in applicable trades which include work in the water/wastewater collection field and or experience performing pump, valve, or hydraulic system repair and maintenance including electrical troubleshooting and repairs
The ability to acquire a Class 'A' CDL with air brake endorsement within six (6) months at the time of hire. Paid for by Sarasota County!
Valid Florida Driver's License at the time of hire
Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening
