CBS-WWW - Field Service Mining Technician

The Field Service Mining Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining diesel engines and related equipment in mining applications, requiring travel to customer locations and performing duties unsupervised.

Responsibilities
Performs accurate failure analysis and troubleshooting using sophisticated electronic diagnostic tools
Discusses findings with customer, proposing solutions that optimize customer satisfaction while maximizing sales opportunities
Creates job repair plan based on diagnosis to include repair operations required and anticipated repair hours needed to complete repair
Utilizes electronic procedure guides and tools to determine best route to repair
Determines parts requirements to complete repair to include qualifying experienced parts for reuse and researching new parts using Williams’ and suppliers’ electronic parts catalogs
Performs authorized repairs as assigned at a specified level of quality and Labor Recovery Rate commensurate with company guidelines for a Journeyman Technician
Travels to customer’s location to perform repairs when necessary
Maintains own tool inventory adequate to perform assigned repairs, and complies with company Technician Tool policies
Uses company’s tools in accordance with Company Tool policies
Develops accurate records of repairs performed and parts used to assist in the proper filing of warranty claims and/or customer invoices
Tags removed parts consistent with AFA procedures
Responds promptly to after-hour call-out service at the request of management
Attends training programs and learns on-the-job to gain the proficiencies on existing product lines necessary to move to the next Technician level in a reasonable amount of time
Takes responsibility and leads small groups of technicians when requested by management to accomplish assigned tasks
Follows all safety and EPA regulations and maintains a safe and clean work area
Qualification
Required
One-year certificate from college or technical school and two to four years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong customer service skills
Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite
Strong working knowledge of electrical systems, circuitry, and diesel engines
Computer and software skills including Microsoft Office Suite
