Responsibilities

Perform all routine histologic techniques

Routine embedding and cutting of Surgical and BX tissues

Prepare and examine slides under the microscope to ensure QC requirements are met

Perform tasks with the automated H&E (Sakura) and the automated IHC (Ventana) and automated special stains (Artisan)

Operate computerized laboratory equipment to fix, dehydrate, and infiltrate tissue specimens to be preserved for study by pathologists

Prepare slides of specimens using specified stains to enhance visibility under microscope

Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualification

Certified HistologistRoutine histologic techniquesAutomated H&EAutomated IHCAutomated special stains

Required

Certified (ASCP or equivalent) Histologist

High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent work experience in related field

Ability to perform all routine histologic techniques

Ability to prepare and examine slides under the microscope to ensure QC requirements are met

Experience with automated H&E (Sakura), automated IHC (Ventana), and automated special stains (Artisan)

Ability to operate computerized laboratory equipment to fix, dehydrate, and infiltrate tissue specimens

Preferred

Experience in clinical lab or pathology lab

High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent work experience in related field preferred with required license
