Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District (THPRD) is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join their team as instructors at the Garden Home Recreation Center. Instructors will engage with a diverse community by planning and conducting recreational programs in various disciplines such as art, sports, and dance, ensuring a positive and safe learning environment for participants of all ages.

Develop and implement engaging curriculum and activities to meet program goals

Ensure the safety and well-being of participants during classes or programs

Provide guidance, feedback, and support to participants to enhance their learning experience

Required

Relevant experience and expertise in the subject matter you wish to instruct

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse participants

Passion for creating a positive and enjoyable learning experience

Instructor I: No teaching experience required, must love working with people of all ages and abilities; able to work inside and outside; and be at least 16 years of age

Instructor II: Must have at least 1 year of experience in leading and instructing general classes and be at least 16 years of age

Instructor III: Must have over 1 year of experience and specialized training in the assigned program area; and be 18 years of age. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record may be required for some positions

Instructor IV: Over two (2) years of experience in the specialty area AND Education/Training: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade plus additional specialized training equivalent to four years of college

This is in addition to Sick leave and may be scheduled by employees for any reason! (available to PT and PTB only)

The ability to earn and utilize up to forty (40) hours of paid sick leave per year

Family Medical Leave eligibility for qualified family and medical related reasons
