Responsibilities

Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in Marriage and Family Therapy and Human Development and Family Science
Provide service to their program, department and university, engage in research, scholarship, and professional development activities
Authoring academic writings
Presentation of work at local/state/regional/national conferences
Attending department/college/university meetings
Engaging in committee work that will advance the department/college/institution
Assisting with student recruitment
Participating in graduation and convocation ceremonies
Meet/advise students on academic and non-academic matters (e.g. curriculum mapping, internships, graduate/professional school options and career preparation)
Cultivate a collegial atmosphere when interacting with other faculty/staff within their own department, the college and the university

Qualification

Required

Applicants must hold a license to practice MFT and be an approved supervisor with AAMFT or a candidate
Evidence of developing a program of research
Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching
Engagement in service/outreach
Ability to advance the department's commitment to diversity
Excellent team collaboration skills
Competency in instructional technology
Excellent oral and written communication skills

Preferred

An earned doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy, Couple Counseling, Human Development, Family Studies, or related field preferred at time of hire (ABD considered for the assistant professor position)
Preference may be given to candidates with experience in teaching, MFT program development, and/or clinic management
The preferred candidate will have the ability to utilize technology and teach online courses
