Electrical Maintenance Technician I - II
The City of Venice is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician I - II to provide electrical service and maintenance for all City facilities. The role involves maintaining city-wide electrical systems, performing maintenance across various facilities, and ensuring compliance with safety practices and standards.

Responsibilities
Maintains and performs City wide electrical service including street lights and traffic control systems
Performs maintenance for all City facilities including but not limited to electrical, plumbing, carpentry and painting
Reads and interprets blueprints or drawings pertaining to assigned projects
Accurately and legibly completes and maintains work orders and other required documentation
Safely and efficiently drives and operates city vehicles as required. Transports supplies, tools, or other material to and from job site
In addition to all functions performed at Level I, a Electrical/Maintenance Technician II:
Monitors and maintains computerized HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) control systems and equipment
Responsible for assessing all city facilities’ automated fire and security control systems
Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of work assignments following established job standards and safety practices
Maintains all tools and equipment in safe and working conditions at all times
Responsible in work to the Maintenance Foreman or designee
Qualification
Required
High school graduate or equivalent with three (3) years general maintenance and electrical experience
Must possess a valid Florida class 'B' Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with Air Brakes endorsement and free of any serious violations or ability to obtain an instate CDL license within 30 days from date of hire
High school graduate or equivalent with five (5) years general maintenance, electrical, HVAC and fire/security systems experience
Ability to repair, analyze and problem solve any assignment
Knowledge of OSHA and National Electrical Code requirements
Competent in facilities maintenance
Ability to work independently of direct supervision and capable of sustaining regular and predictable attendance
Ability to communicate effectively; understand and follow oral and written instructions, blueprints and drawings
Awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions and capable of safely operating motorized/hand tools or equipment used to complete tasks
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and the general public
Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, reach, and lift up to 40 pounds
Ability to work outside in all kinds of weather and for prolonged periods of time
Must have good eyesight and hearing with or without aides
Must possess excellent hand and eye coordination
