Responsibilities
Cuts grass by operating a power push mower and weed eater
Performs or assists with any of the following: trims hedges; rakes leaves; plants grass; cuts down dead trees; clears storm drains; edges sidewalks; plants shrubs; and collects trash and litter
Operates a variety of hand and power tools to clear and maintain Cemetery grounds. Tools include: blower; aerator; stand-on sprayer spreads; shovel; mattock; pry bar; and rake
Performs routine maintenance and minor repairs of equipment
Adjusts upright markers and flat markers as needed
Performs other related duties as required
Employee is subject to recall and/or mandatory overtime for emergency situations
May be required to work overtime for non-emergency situations
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED desirable
Valid Class C Driver's License preferred. If licensed, a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) is required
Knowledge of department operations and procedures
Skill in operating hand and power tools and small equipment used by department
Ability to lift objects up to 50 pounds
Ability to take and follow directions from supervisor
