Full-Time Networking Instructor SCI
NEOGOV is seeking a Networking Technology Instructor for the Scotland Correctional Institution under the Richmond Community College. The role involves providing effective instruction in networking technology, developing curriculum, and preparing students for entry-level industry certifications.

Responsibilities
Provides effective instruction in networking technology, with emphasis on foundational skills and progression toward entry-level certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCST)
Develops and updates curriculum and instructional materials to meet current industry standards and student needs
Makes recommendations for course offerings and instructional improvements based on student performance and industry trends
Designs instruction to support basic, beginning-level learners and scaffolds learning toward more advanced competencies
Securely manages classroom and networking lab operations, including class-specific software and hardware
Prepares course materials and utilizes approved texts and resources
Assists in the evaluation and implementation of approved program curriculum and instructional processes
Provides adequate supervision and classroom management in compliance with RichmondCC and Department of Adult Corrections policies
Maintains a current course outline
Administers proficiency examinations and certification exams, ensuring adherence to standardized testing procedures
Maintains and submits accurate records and documentation in a timely manner
Abides by all directives set forth in the formal agreement between Richmond Community College and Scotland Correctional Institution
Keeps college administration informed of all matters related to the program
Accepts other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Ability to effectively teach incarcerated individuals
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Proficiency in current Microsoft Operating Systems and Office Products
Commitment to the open-door philosophy of community colleges and student-centered learning
Skills in critical analysis, problem-solving, and independent decision-making
Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities
Understanding of and commitment to the unique nature and role of correctional education
Associate degree (AA or AAS) in Networking Technology required
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in networking technology required
Preferred
Industry-recognized networking certification (e.g., Cisco, CompTIA) preferred
Teaching experience in adult education preferred
