The Colorado Department of Human Services is seeking Client Care Aide IIs for the Fitzsimons Veterans Community Living Center. The role involves providing basic hands-on patient care and ensuring a safe, clean environment for residents, including tasks like bathing, grooming, and basic assessments.

Responsibilities

Provide direct resident care including bathing, dressing, undressing, assisting in and out of bed, performing personal hygiene, feeding programs, toileting programs, range of motion, transporting, and interacting socially to meet residents’ basic needs
Explaining patient care before, during, and after contacts
Answering call lights and assessing basic resident care needs
Updating noted resident changes, reporting information to the charge nurse, and recommending routines and schedules to IDT Team
Performing basic resident observations, such as vital signs, blood pressure, weight, intake and output, and basic skin assessments
Providing infection control by implementing/using universal precautions and proper disposal of waste
Cleaning linen room and equipment, stocking supplies, and completing supply forms
Correctly using safety/positioning devices, side rails, transfer belts, and other equipment
Attending ongoing staff education programs

CNA certificationBLS Healthcare Provider CardLong-term care experienceVeteransCustomer service skillsCommunication skills

Required

Must hold and maintain an active CNA certification in good standing from the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies
Current BLS Healthcare Provider Card
High school diploma or General Educational Diploma (GED)
One year of experience in an occupational field related to the work assigned to the position
Must possess a valid, unrestricted U.S. driver's license

Preferred

Experience in a long-term care environment
Experience working with veterans or patients who suffer from PTSD
Experience working with patients with dementia
Excellent communication and customer service skills

This position will receive a short-staffing temporary pay differential of 4% from July 1st 2025 - June 30th 2026.
