MUSCP - Audiology/ Hearing Aid Technician - Department of Otolaryngology
The Medical University of South Carolina is seeking an Audiology/ Hearing Aid Technician to work under the supervision of a licensed audiologist. This role involves performing administrative and patient assessment tasks related to hearing aids and amplification systems in Charleston and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities
Prepare rooms and equipment daily as well as throughout the day
Greet and prepare patients for audiologic evaluation and hearing aid appointments
Obtain and document patient history and relevant health information and intake duties as directed by audiologist
Manage loaner hearing aid bank and manage distribution
Clean and maintain hearing aids and earmolds
Troubleshoot common hearing aid issues
Provide orientation on basic hearing aid care and battery use
Assist with inventory management and hearing aid orders
Assist with connectivity of current technologies to hearing aids
Complete clinic forms associated with the hearing aid program
Confirm hearing aid program settings for incoming repaired hearing aids
Prepare hearing aid devices for new hearing aid fittings
Schedule patient appointments as needed
Manage incoming and outgoing packages primarily related to hearing aids and implantable devices
Enter and update electronic medical records including but not limited to documentation of your patient communications
Maintain supplies and order clinical materials as needed
Maintain inventory of equipment
Manage IT requests regarding equipment per audiologist request
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science degree In Medical Technology or relevant medical or scientific discipline
Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist by ASCP BOC or equivalent, or relevant categorical certification preferred at the time of hire, however, if not certified, certification must be obtained within the first year of employment
