Responsibilities
Native or near native fluency in Arabic, familiar with Arabic culture, basic computer skills
Reliability, timeliness and attention to detail
Increasing knowledge of Arabic 1010 and 1020, 2010,2020 and other Arabic language related including teaching methods and the course textbook, materials, and assignments
Increasing competence in tutoring, focusing on textbook integration, identifying student level of competence, and tailoring instruction to the student level, needs, and instructor expectations
Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of people with a variety of abilities and backgrounds, to maintain good working relationships across the College
Ability to work with all groups from a variety of academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, and with community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities

All employees are expected to maintain a permanent residence within the State of Utah as a condition of employment
High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred
Current student of SLCC
Language teaching or tutoring experience
Ability to communicate both in English and the language you will be tutoring
Availability to attend the SLCC classes in the target language in conjunction with the approval of the course instructor
Attending classes will increase your familiarity with course materials and teaching methods
The instructor will expect you to work with students during class time, which is also good preparation for tutoring
