Maintenance Technician - Automation (600 Days)

Responsibilities

Maintain a clean and safe work area and report any unsafe working conditions
Read, use and interpret measuring devices, gauges and inspection tools
Perform all required necessary preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment
Actively participate on teams and offer suggestions for improvement
Answer machine alarms as they occur and identify and address the root cause
Follow all 5S guidelines
Perform and document inspections per cGMP for work instruction sheet, on device history sheet records, and work instruction sheet tables
Follow all Lock Out/Tag Out rules
Diagnose and troubleshoot any pneumatic, electrical or mechanical malfunction on a variety of machines
Adjusts assembly machine units for major/minor lot production operations following department specification
Repair and maintain electrical controls on equipment (molding, assembly and packaging machines), including servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines and devices primarily on the basis of electronic principles
Upload programs to controls in the events of program loss or CPU replacement
Repair robot arms and controls, including replacing bad boards, motors, encoders, etc
Calibrate and adjust robot pick and place locations if needed
Conduct TPM activities as required
Input Maintenance work orders into the Computerized Maintenance Management Software (SAP)
Monitor processes, show an awareness of issues and demonstrate corrective actions to address those issues
Perform weekly, monthly and as required preventive maintenance (PM)
Perform root cause analysis for safety, quality, and processing issues
Suggest ways to improve the efficiency and safety of our work and environment Comply with all company policies
Must be able to fluently operate presses, robots and auxiliary equipment to diagnose malfunctions, and to verify repairs
Troubleshoots and locates the source of the problem by observing the operation of the equipment
Brainstorms with other maintenance personnel, and outside technical support as needed
Restores damaged or malfunctioning equipment to operation by repairing, replacing and or adjusting electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
Controls down time by scheduling repairs with the Maintenance Manager
Maintains good communications with Maintenance Manager
Maintains ongoing list of projects with timeline to be addressed and completed
Assists other maintenance personnel as needed
Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.Ensures the work is completed with technical excellence, and in an efficient and cost-effective fashion

Required

High school diploma or equivalent years of experience required
Must have 3 or more years of experience in a technical, hands-on maintenance position
Strong math, reading and communication skills required
Experience with injection molding required
Knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting (AB, Koyo, Omron, Mitsubishi, etc.)
Experience in hydraulics and pneumatics required
Ability to work independently from verbal and/or written instructions required
Must understand Lean Manufacturing concepts
Must be mechanically inclined and have the ability to use basic hand tools
Must have strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
Ability to regularly lift up to 40lbs with repetitive movements
Ability to push and pull items
Ability to stand and/or walk up to constantly during the shift
Ability to climb up and down ladders

Preferred

Computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications preferred and SAP experience preferred
