Temporary Onboarding Assistant - Non-Merit

NEOGOV is seeking a Temporary Onboarding Assistant to support the Board of Elections in Baltimore County. The role involves performing clerical work, assisting in the hiring and training of election judges, and ensuring compliance with election-related processes and deadlines.

Responsibilities

Assists in the hiring of election judges and schedule their training
Assists in Proofreading processed batches of registration
Prioritizes data processing tasks to assure timely completion in accordance with office policies and procedures
Responsible for voter registrations applications
Assists with special projects including – Mass mailings, petitions, redistricting, verifications, voter education, canvass election, packing judge supplies and surveys
Maintains and secures files daily
Assists with the preparation and the conduct of elections to meet all deadlines to include but not limited to: Processing voter registration, provisional ballots, record retention, reports, certificates and other information in accordance with Local, State and Federal laws
Operates office machinery, photocopiers, fax machines, and calculators
Updates and maintains filing systems, lists, log books and rosters
Answers routine inquiries from the public, or directs inquiries to proper agency
Collects and compiles technical data and prepares summary statistics
Performs occasional light typing or word processing
Performs other related duties as assigned

Required

Possession of a high school diploma or an appropriate high school equivalency
one year's general clerical experience
Must be available to work 40 hours/week with some mandatory overtime on evenings and weekends during the Election year
The work of this position involves special physical demands such as lifting 50 pounds or more, climbing ladders, etc
Applicants selected for an appointment to a position in Baltimore County must successfully complete an employment background investigation, including, but not limited to a criminal background, education, and fingerprint check
