Responsibilities
Direct, advise and assist users of landfill and transfer sites in proper disposal procedures; monitor incoming traffic and disposal areas for special waste; explain and enforce departmental policy and procedures; provide recycle information; issue warnings and citations; report violations. Resolve problems associated with facility users
Collect special waste fees; maintain cash box and related paperwork
Weigh all incoming loads; maintain log of incidents, violations and waste volumes. Monitor wood waste, tire and glass areas for unauthorized disposal
Open and close site at appointed hour; open and close barrier gates for permit holders
As needed, operate loader to move brush piles, clean up site and recycle areas
Qualification
Required
At time of appointment, must possess valid Oregon drivers license
Regular and consistent attendance
Preferred
Two years combination of experience or training dealing with the public and in interpretation of policy and procedures
