ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF PHYSICS
NEOGOV is seeking an Assistant Professor of Physics for Northwestern State University. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate physics courses, contribute to the general education curriculum, and engage in scholarly research and professional development.

Responsibilities
Demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, service, professional development, and scholarly activity
Deliver high-quality instruction that fosters academic excellence across all assigned courses
Submit course syllabi and learning objectives in accordance with university, college, school, and department guidelines
Employ a range of effective, evidence-based pedagogical strategies
Assess student performance and provide timely feedback and progress reports
Participate in the periodic review and continuous improvements of course materials
Maintain a consistent teaching schedule and hold a minimum of 10 office hours per week for student engagement, as determined by the Department Chair
Exhibit a thorough understanding of the mission, goals, and objectives of the College and the University
Serve as an academic advisor and mentor to students within the Department of Department of Physical Science and the Division of Mathematics
Attend faculty meetings and actively contribute to relevant departmental, school, college, and university committees
Maintain subject matter expertise through ongoing professional development, including research, grant writing, scholarly publications, and presentations
Conduct independent research and support student researcher initiatives
Qualification
Required
Ph.D. in Physics or closely related field
