Qualification
Required
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Ability to work with the general public
Ability to use radio and electronic data communication devices
Ability to handle several tasks at one time, possibly under a stressful situation
High school graduate or equivalent; OR
At least six (6) months of equivalent combination of experience and training, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
A Valid Class C Texas driver's license and the ability to maintain a satisfactory driving record
Must obtain a Telecommunications Operator License within six (6) months of hire date, including but not limited to the following courses; Course #1305 TCOLE Rules Overview for Telecommunicators and Jailers, Course #1013 Basic Telecommunicator Course, Course #2120 Crisis Communication Course, Course #2809 TLETS/NLETS Basic Operators Course, Course #3802 NCIC/TCIC Basic Procedures Course 911 Call Taker training Telecommunications Device for the Deaf
