Start in 2026 SummerKirkham Michael is an award-winning multi-disciplined civil engineering firm dedicated to the success of our clients. They are currently looking for energetic and knowledgeable civil engineering students to fill entry-level, temporary Summer Civil Engineering Intern positions.
Consulting
Responsibilities
Drawing (AutoCAD, OpenRoads Designer) assignments to assist in development of project plans
Standard computations or analysis
Observe construction activities, assist with materials testing
Perform basic survey services
Perform bridge inspections in the field and assist with generating inspection reports
Assists on other tasks such as: hydrology and hydraulics studies, report preparation, preparation of permit applications
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in progress; currently enrolled at an accredited university majoring in Civil Engineering
Knowledge of and ability to apply the fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of civil engineering to projects
High level of creativity
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Successful candidates will be articulate with professional presence, with solid decision-making, planning, and organizational skills
Valid Driver's License required
Preferred
Experience in transportation or construction engineering a plus, but not required
