Actuary (Corporate Actuarial)

Responsibilities
Assist with production and review of all actuarial narrative in the Enstar Group Limited (EGL) financial reporting
Perform reserve analyses on a quarterly and/or annual basis for Corporate Actuarial portfolios, including mostly General Liability, Workers’ Compensation, and Property Catastrophe reinsurance exposures
Support and participate in decision-making for quarterly reserving in respect of Corporate Actuarial and Bermuda legacy run-off portfolios. This involves understanding quarterly loss development and being aware of any other activity (not part of quarterly loss development) that could impact IBNR at each quarter-end
Assume responsibility for original reserving for miscellaneous Bermuda-based portfolios
Communicate with finance, claims, pricing, and underwriting teams on a frequent basis in order to obtain and provide qualitative and quantitative information related to loss reserves and trends observed
Analyze new portfolios that may be acquired/assumed in the future. This will involve liaising with the M&A team in order to obtain qualitative and quantitative information about those portfolios that will be used in the reserve analyses
Work on ad-hoc projects – for example, ULAE reserving and estimation of future cash flows supporting liquidity projections
Perform internal actuarial controls on the portfolios analyzed on a quarterly/annual basis
Qualification
Required
5+ years of reserving experience on P&C business
Must have an actuarial qualification (ACAS/FCAS, etc.)
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Knowledge of ResQ reserving software helpful
Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of individuals in a variety of functions (e.g. finance, claims, underwriting, actuarial, operations)
Highly motivated individual who can work additional hours as necessary
Must be able to deliver results under tight deadlines
Good problem-solving abilities
Must be adaptable to a changing environment
Excellent communication skills in order to work closely with various departments
