This management-level position involves conducting in-depth legal research, analyzing case law, and delivering written recommendations to support judicial decision-making.

Responsibilities

Research complex legal issues and prepare detailed memos that help shape court decisions
Draft and edit legal opinions, orders, and judgments with precision and purpose
Advise District Judges on legal strategy and interpretation across civil and criminal matters
Attend court proceedings, take detailed notes, and support the Judge through pre-trial conferences, motion hearings, and trials
Review and analyze evidence and court records to provide succinct legal insight
Collaborate with attorneys and public agencies to manage court scheduling and procedural flow
Stay current on legal developments, including statutes, case law, and procedural rules—your insights will help the Court stay sharp and informed

Required

A Juris Doctor from an American Bar Association accredited law school
Licensed to practice law in any U.S. jurisdiction, with a current good standing
Strong command of legal research techniques (Westlaw proficiency preferred)
A mastery of legal writing, clear logic, and persuasive communication
An eye for detail with the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable recommendations
Integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence in public service
A collaborative spirit and a calm demeanor under pressure
