Responsibilities

Selecting and installing AV hardware and software, AV engineers ensure that AV equipment is prepared to meet the organization’s needs, including AV distribution, switching, intercom, paging, room automation, sound reinforcement, AV conferencing, and assisted listening systems

Coordinate and lead AV solution deployments

Collaborate on technical strategy

Research products to provide best solutions and technology

Perform pre-sales walkthroughs

Perform pre-sales engineering and system design

Provide technical guidance

Install, terminate, and connect AV and network cabling

Design and build AV circuits in the field

Maintenance, troubleshooting, and problem-solving - including hardware and software issues

Configure and program AV, Intercom, and Automation systems

Provide Technical and Engineered Drawings to AV Technicians as well as construction personnel and end users

Train and support end users

Creating and updating AV documentation, this includes user guides and technical documentation

Collaborating with other AV professionals

Effective communicate with entire implementation team to ensure accurate and effective deployment of systems

Attend and participate in service departmental meetings to provide project updates, product knowledge and be a team member to those responsible for implementation and support of those solutions

Assist with projects and provide cross functional assistance to other departments when needed

Develop in-depth knowledge of the AV offerings and how they relate to customer’s needs

Document internal processes and procedures related to duties and responsibilities

Responsible for entering time and expenses in our tools

Take part in other relevant activities as directed by manager

Awareness of the latest trends and features in AV equipment

Required

Technical background with previous experience in a technical role in the AV space

Proficient in PDF mark-up software

Proficient in programming and configuring Automation, DSP and VOIP equipment

Basic certifications from strategic product partners (Bogen, Q-SYS, Atlona, Daktronics)

Flexible attitude toward scheduling changes

Adaptable and creative-oriented attitude

Enjoy working with customers and external audiences

Proficient with general Microsoft Office applications

Strong organizational, presentation, and customer service skills

Skill in preparing written communications and materials

Interpersonal skills: such as active listening and customer care

Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly

Typing skills to ensure quick and accurate data entry

Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment

Hours of operation are typically within a normal working day but at times will require after hours work

Travel is involved with minimal overnight stays

Valid drivers license is required

While performing the duties of this position, individual may be required to stand and walk for extended periods using handheld equipment and power tools

May encounter frequent climbing of stairs and ladders. Ability to work using a lift is preferred

Perform work in buildings, attics, basements, and crawl spaces

May require working in environment that is not heated or air conditioned

Work outdoors will be limited to when conditions are safe to do so

Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds

Will use normal range of vision, hearing, and speaking

Frequently engages in mental concentration, analysis and formulation

Individual will often be required to physically climb, bend, crouch, squat, crawl, kneel, balance, reach, and twist to accomplish duties
