Metrology Technician

The Associate Metrology Technician is responsible for measuring, inspecting, and calibrating instruments and gauges, ensuring precision and accuracy in measurements while maintaining compliance with quality standards.

Responsibilities

Perform precise measurements using metrology equipment, blueprints, gauges and overlay drawings
Ensure all measurement tools and equipment are calibrated correctly
Prepare, upload and store Device History Records (DHRs)
Document and report all measurement, calibration, and test results
Interact with vendors and customers
Receive, process and ship gauge orders
Provides certificates of calibration based on an acceptable quality level of pre-inspected gauges to approve their use in-house, or for suppliers
Analyze and interpret measurement data
Identify and solve any problems that may affect the accuracy of measurements
Ensure compliance with quality control standards and procedures
Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies
Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role
Represents the company in a professional manner and uphold the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties

Required

Knowledge of metrology principles and hand measurement tools
Experience with calibration procedures
Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, 3D CAD models, technical manuals and diagrams
Basic knowledge of GD&T principles
Attention to detail to ensure precision and accuracy in all measurements and reports
Computer skills for using specialized software to control measurement systems and for documenting results
Interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with peers and to establish relationships across the organization and at various hierarchical levels

Preferred

Associate degree in Metrology, Engineering or relevant field preferred; certification in metrology is a plus, or 2 years of relevant experience within Metrology, Quality Control or similar roles within highly regulated environment
