Responsibilities
Creating and maintaining digital assessment maps and GIS datasets
Interpreting legal property documents and updating parcel boundaries
Processing recorded subdivision plats, splits, merges, and ownership changes
Conducting legal research and applying findings to correct land records
Performing calculations for parcel area, boundaries, and valuation proration
Assisting internal teams and the public with mapping and land record questions
Qualification
Required
An associate degree or certification in Computer Information Technology, Surveying, Cartography, GIS, or a related field
At least 2 years of hands-on experience with cadastral mapping or similar technical mapping work
Strong analytical, research, and technical skills
Familiarity with Idaho property assessment laws is a plus
A passion for accuracy and public service
Completion of STC Appraisal Course 1 within 12 months of hire
STC Cadastral Mapping Certification within 3 years
Ongoing continuing education (minimum of 32 STC-approved CE credit hours every two years)
Preferred
Experience with GIS tools and land mapping software
Understanding of legal land descriptions and property boundary law
Solid communication skills and attention to detail
Ability to read and interpret subdivision plats, deeds, and survey data
