Wayne-Sanderson Farms is a poultry processing company seeking a Refrigeration Technician. The primary responsibility of this role is to maintain, operate, inspect, and repair ammonia refrigeration equipment, ensuring compliance with various guidelines and regulations.

Responsibilities

Under direct supervision, assist in the daily operations of the ammonia refrigeration compressor room

Take and record required system readings; understand the implications of variances and report to appropriate personnel/leader

Perform basic maintenance as directed

Identify unsafe conditions and report to appropriate personnel

Work in compliance with all company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations

All other duties as assigned

Required

Must have prior experience, serious inquiries only!

High School Diploma or equivalent

Required to pass NOCTI HVAC/Refrigeration test, Level I

Intermediate math and computer skills

Basic understanding of ammonia refrigeration equipment

Basic knowledge of electrical and general mechanical systems

Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate

Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours

Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character

Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs

Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times in areas where required

Stand up to 8 hours

Lift up to 60 lbs

May be exposed to heat (99ºF, 37ºC) and cold (45ºF, 4ºC)

Exposure to wet and dusty environment

Frequently reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling and crawling

Work around raw, live animal odors
