Senior Supervisor-Water Park
NEOGOV is seeking a Senior Supervisor for Dry Town Water Park, responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and supervising the aquatic park facility. The role includes overseeing maintenance, development, and inspection of the park, while providing administrative support to the department director and managing staff operations.

Responsibilities
Exercise direct supervision over employees consisting of assigned staff; assign, direct, train, motivate, review, and evaluate the work performed by assigned staff
Plan, organize, coordinate, and direct the planning, development, and implementation of recreation programs, special events, and facilities
Evaluate, approve, and direct implementation of specific programs, activities, plans, and procedures
Participate in the selection of staff; provide or coordinate staff training; work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement discipline procedures; write performance evaluations
Research, prepare and review reports, as well as completing assigned projects
Prepare reports and make presentations to the City Council, Planning Commission, community groups and outside agencies
Prepare purchase requisitions, order supplies and materials
Respond to complaints, identify, and implement solutions
Provide highly responsible administrative support
Assist in preparing and administering the department's budget
Plan, organize, and supervise the day-to-day administrative activities of the aquatic park
Plan, organize, coordinate, prepare and supervise the aquatic park operations
Assist in the development, implementation and monitoring of the aquatic park goals and objectives
Research and develop policies, procedures and safety measures for the aquatic park
Coordinate and prepare for numerous safety inspections; respond to requests and directives from state and local inspectors and make procedural and operational adjustments
Make recommendations to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of aquatic park activities
Assist in setting the fees for aquatic park activities and products
Develop and evaluate sales and marketing strategies. Oversee sales and revenue from merchandise, concession, ticket and rental sales
Solicit sponsorships for equipment, supplies and in-kind services
Prepare purchase requisitions; order supplies and materials
Prepare status reports; conduct customer service surveys
Prepare, manage and monitor the aquatic park budget
Respond to difficult complaints and requests for information
Meet with public groups, clubs, organizations and agencies to explain and promote services and activities related to the aquatic park that encourage community participation
Select, supervise, train and evaluate assigned staff
Research and prepare various reports and statistical data as required; maintain records
Attend meetings and conferences; make presentations and provide information regarding aquatic park operations
Assist peers in the implementation of their programs and/or events
Qualification
Required
Four - Five years of increasingly responsible experience in an applicable field, including two years of experience of supervisory responsibility
A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in a related field
Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California driver license and legally required vehicle insurance
Knowledge of principles of personnel management
Knowledge of budget preparation and administration
Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations
Knowledge of principles of employee supervision, training, and performance evaluations
Knowledge of English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation; and business letter writing
Knowledge of computer software, including word processing, database, spreadsheet, and accounting applications
Knowledge of standard office procedures, methods, and computer software
Knowledge of principles of customer service
Ability to plan, supervise, and direct the work of personnel
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
Ability to train departmental personnel
Ability to prepare reports and maintain records and reports
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work including co-workers, City staff, and contractors
Ability to understand and carry out both oral and written instructions
Preferred
Knowledge of Excel is desirable
Benefits
The City provides 15 paid holidays per year and 80 hours vacation (years one through four) with a maximum accrual of 240 hours (160 hours for benefited part-time employees).
Employees accrue 96 hours per year with a maximum accrual of 800 hours (400 hours for benefited part-time employees). Unbenefited part-time employees receive 28 hours of paid sick leave per fiscal year.
The City is a member of the California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS). Full-time and benefited part-time employees will be enrolled in either the New Member or Classic plan, as defined by CalPERS.

Direct Deposit is mandatory for all new employees.

The City participates in the ICMA-RC Deferred Compensation Plan, which enables benefited part-time and full-time employees to contribute on a tax deferred basis.
Overtime is accrued at time-and-a-half for eligible employees for time physically worked in excess of the regular 40-hour work week.
Any employee may be reimbursed for work related mileage at 54 cents per mile when assigned to use their private vehicle on City business.
The City does not participate in Social Security and does not deduct Social Security payments from any employee's salary. The City deducts 1.45% of salary for Medicare and makes a 1.45% matching contribution.
