Field Service Technician - Req ID 6013

Responsibilities

On-site diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of Caterpillar (CAT) Power Generation equipment and related systems
Work independently from a fully equipped Ohio CAT service truck
Service and perform maintenance on CAT diesel and gas generators (5KW to 3MW)
Service switchgear and ATS systems
Service control panels and electrical distribution systems
Perform load bank testing, commissioning, and preventive maintenance
Use diagnostic tools (e.g., CAT ET (Electronic Technician), SIS (Service Information System), and other computer-based diagnostic tools/software) to troubleshoot issues
Provide exceptional customer service and technical support
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and documentation standards

Required

High School Diploma or GED is required, along with completion of a technical school program (minimum 2 years) focused on diesel or power generation systems, plus at least 3 years of relevant industry experience
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in repairing diesel engines, generators, and industrial equipment
Experience with CAT, Cummins, Generac, Kohler, or Detroit Diesel generator systems
Familiarity with switchgear brands like Russelectric, Lakeshore, or Asco
Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
Ability to read and interpret wiring schematics and control diagrams
Military or field-based experience in equipment diagnostics and repair is highly valued
Comfortable working independently in outdoor environments
Must own and safely use personal mechanic's tools
