Responsibilities

Participate as an active member of the treatment team by facilitating interactions that will ensure the home is a safe haven for therapeutic transformation
Continuously assess and positively support the young person's perception of safety, feelings of significance, feelings of being respected and related to others, as well as providing direct and indirect supervision of all assigned young people in the home
Provide direct care and supervision to youth residents ages 8-17 with persistent mental illnesses
Provide youth residents with therapeutic activities while ensuring their safety
Work with a team of residents on their daily program, specific interventions and adjustments to the milieu, including homework, chores, recreation, social skills, daily living skills, individualized weekly and treatment plan goals
Facilitate house meetings with assigned team, sharing feedback and communicating positive expectations
Facilitate one specialized group (social skills, relaxation, recreation, craft, life skill, etc.) each week, as requested
Dispense medications to residents (per physician's orders) as requested and training permits
Monitor and chart resident activity and treatment progress daily (i.e., shift notes, logs, incident reports, behavior tracking, treatment plans, etc.)

Required

High School Diploma or GED
Current driver's license, acceptable driving record and current auto insurance
Must be 21 years of age or older
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Passion for working with at-risk youth
Ability to work in a team environment
Flexibility and adaptability

Preferred

Experience with direct care for youth preferred
