The City of Richmond is seeking a qualified candidate for the Policy Advisor position. This role involves providing advanced support to the Office of the Mayor in developing and implementing major policies and programs that have a city-wide impact.

Responsibilities

Formulates and recommends strategies for advancing projects and solving complex issues; provides leadership and vision to support recommended strategies. Performs work of unusual difficulty involving strategic planning and interpreting complex policies and regulations

Organizes, reviews, researches, manages, and directs initiatives, rules, regulations, plans, programs, agency items, etc

Networks, communicates, and meets with various organizations and businesses

Provides supervision and guidance. Leads and directs effective utilization of resources

Drafts, implements, reviews, and responds to various documents, ordinances, emails, etc

Attends, prepares for, organizes, conducts, and serves on various settings. Represents the executive at meetings and hearings. Services as a liaison with attorneys, consultants, executives, municipal representatives, community boards and professional associations

Required

Bachelor's Degree in public administration, business administration, or field directly related to assignment
