Responsibilities
Conducts screening of building occupants and personal items; inspects personal items for potential hazards, and searches individuals for dangerous materials or contraband according to policy
Maintains security of the Courthouse perimeter through assigned physical and electronic surveillance
Responds to calls for service within the Courthouse, including door alarms
Actively monitors electronic security systems within the Courthouse
Updates and maintains event logs and shift activity reports in accordance with the Sheriff’s Office policy
Identifies and reports equipment maintenance issues; performs preventative maintenance as directed
Notifies the Records Clerk of incoming record requests
Assists with sworn law enforcement duties as requested by the department
Testifies as a credible witness in court proceedings
Maintains confidentiality of non-public records and makes available all data and information deemed a public record by the North Dakota Century Code
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or GED equivalent AND one (1) year of satisfactory work experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Must pass and maintain license requirements set by the North Dakota Peace Officer Standards and Training Board
Must possess a valid North Dakota Driver's License or equivalent
Must pass a thorough background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
Must obtain and maintain NCIC security certification through the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigations
Technical certifications in CPR, First Aid, and specialized equipment are required
