NEOGOV is associated with the University of Central Missouri, which is seeking a Student Worker for Athletic Fields. This role involves assisting in the maintenance, preparation, and upkeep of university athletic fields to ensure safe and high-quality playing surfaces for various sports and events.

Responsibilities

Assist with daily maintenance of natural and synthetic turf athletic fields

Mow, trim, edge, and water athletic fields and surrounding areas

Set up and break down fields for practices, games, and special events (e.g., painting lines, placing goals, benches, nets, and other equipment)

Operate small equipment such as push mowers, utility carts, string trimmers, blowers, and hand tools

Assist in aerating, fertilizing, topdressing, and other turf management practices as directed

Monitor fields for safety concerns, damage, or maintenance needs, and promptly report issues to supervisors

Perform general groundskeeping tasks such as trash removal, sweeping, and facility clean-up

Support irrigation system operation and adjustments under supervision

Work collaboratively with athletic staff, coaches, and event personnel to ensure fields are prepared on time

Follow all university and department safety procedures

Required

Must be enrolled as a student at the university

No experience necessary, willing to teach

Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends depending on athletic schedules

Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks for extended periods
