Applications Engineer

Responsibilities
Provide applications expertise and support for Micron's NAND Flash products
Work with design, marketing, and the field applications force to introduce and support products in the market
Create and releasing product support documentation and working with 3rd party partners to enable support for Micron products
Develop, maintain, and present technical training and sales material required to support products and deliver technical training to sales, applications engineering, and customers as required
Work directly with the field applications force and customers to support initial design and product qualifications
Continually evaluate competitive product offerings and provide support material to marketing, sales and field application engineers
Manage and coordinate customer problem resolution in the factory, as well as develop reference designs and applications notes
Collaborate with design and other development engineering teams for feature development and validation
Provide technical support to enable product acceptance and use from sample through qualification
Provide customer and factory support for application qualification through communication of technical needs, issues identification and problem resolution
Customer training of advanced error correction features and other advanced NAND features
Provide feature and specification guidance to internal SSD development teams
Field Application Engineering technical support for customer problem resolution
Provide Direct Customer technical support for product use and enablement as well as problem resolution and follow up with factory or customer corrective action
Guide application-oriented problem resolution with factory received RMA (assist QA)
May telecommute part-time
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or in an Applications Engineer-related occupation
Alternatively, a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
Education or experience in system design, operating systems, device driver, or business interfaces
Education or experience in nonvolatile memory operation
Education or experience in product or system debug either with a customer or design validation
Education or experience in application knowledge of storage systems
Education or experience in development of specifications or features for inclusion in specification addendums, application notes, technical notes, or other collateral aimed at user education and engagement
