The Director of Quality will be responsible for implementing a Quality Verification program and ensuring compliance with specified quality standards and technical requirements throughout the project.
Responsibilities
Comprehension and fluency with requirements for the project, including plans, technical specifications, and the contract(s)
Understanding of the micro and macro project objectives
Review and approval of the Contractor's Quality Management Program
Develop, Implement, and monitor the Quality Verification program to ensure compliance with the FRA, DOTs, and Third-Parties requirements
Outline the project delivery procedure to achieve Project Acceptance in accordance with the Contract requirements
Determining and examining the truth or accuracy of the Contractor’s Quality Validation processes
Plan and conduct the audits of quality processes, procedures, and activities
Assuring the Contractor's enforcement of sub-tier quality control programs for subcontractors, fabricators, and material suppliers
Interpretation of specifications
Qualification
Required
BS Civil Engineering, Building Construction, Construction Management, or Engineering Technology, or demonstrated equivalent experience
Broad knowledge of standards in the construction industry, including civil, rail, and building construction
Minimum 15 years' experience in quality management in the construction industry
Minimum 5 years of major design-build construction management experience
Must be a Registered Professional Civil Engineer in the State of California
Prior experience in owner-side quality management on design-build projects
Prior large-scale civil engineering experience, preferably including rail systems
Demonstrated prior experience writing and administering quality control and validation programs
Demonstrated ability to work within project team and to achieve project objectives
