Superintendent, Facilities Maintenance & Operations.
NEOGOV is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking professional to serve as the Superintendent of Facilities Maintenance & Operations. The role involves leading the day-to-day functions of the Facilities Maintenance Division, ensuring City facilities are safe and well-maintained, and managing various maintenance and operational responsibilities.

Responsibilities
Plans, directs, and administers the day-to-day functions of the Public Works Facilities Maintenance Division. (Capital Improvement Projects, Facilities Operating Budget, Contracts and Procurement, Customer Service and Employee relations
Oversees ALL building maintenance and repair
Operates and maintains custodial functions; internal employees and contracts
Ensures security and emergency preparedness procedures are implemented properly
Forecasts, allocates, and supervises the financial and physical resources of the facility management
Responsible for building and maintaining a Facilities Asset Management System and creating a facilities equipment replacement plan
Oversees and supervises the quality of work for facilities employees to ensure that all tasks are performed correctly, efficiently, and effectively
Responsible for creating reports on maintenance, repairs, safety and other occurrences for supervisors and other relevant staff
Recommends maintenance, mechanical, electrical, and facility design modifications
Manages and reviews service contracts
Responsible for conducting and documenting regular facilities inspections and PM Program
Checks completed work by vendors and contractors
Communicates workplace safety precautions to employees
Oversees the maintenance of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), electrical, plumbing, carpentry, security, fire systems, etc
Assists with the removal snow at city facilities and parking lots; participates in disaster recovery efforts
Ensures that City facilities are maintained at a comfortable temperature with proper lighting and ensures that mandated inspections are completed (fire, elevator, etc.) and that all contracted services are being met and buildings are kept clean
Manages subordinate employees, assigning tasks and projects, monitoring work, conducting employee evaluations, training and mentoring
Collaborating with the most senior building occupants and upper management on budgeting for facilities needs
Demonstrates regular and punctual attendance
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Business, or closely related field
Five (5) years of full-time equivalent experience in working with various building systems
Five (5) years of full-time equivalent supervisory experience
Must have a strong knowledge of all the building trades (Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Carpentry), to include project management
A combination of education and experience may be considered for this position
Must possess a valid driver's license and must have and maintain a satisfactory driving record based on the city of Hampton's criteria
Must successfully pass a background check prior to any offer of employment or promotion
